Description:

This species has a varied musical singing, sometimes sings at night. It is common in most open habitats, including human settlements. They feed mainly on insects and some berries. Incubation, held only by the female, lasts 13-15 days. This bird aggressively defends its nest against other birds and animals, including large iguanas, dogs and even humans. ------------------------------- Esta especie tiene un canto musical variado, a veces canta por la noche. Es común en la mayoría de los hábitats abiertos, entre ellos asentamientos humanos. Se alimentan principalmente de insectos y algunas bayas. La incubación, llevada a cabo sólo por la hembra, dura de 13 a 15 días. Esta ave defiende su nido agresivamente contra otras aves y animales, incluyendo grandes iguanas, perros y hasta humanos.

Habitat:

It is resident and breeds from southern Mexico to northern Brazil, and in the Lesser Antilles and other Caribbean islands. Specimens of Panama and Trinidad could have been introduced by man. ------------------------------------------- Es residente y se reproduce desde el sur de México hasta el norte de Brasil, y en las Antillas Menores y otras islas del Mar Caribe.
