Bat moth

Chilkasa falcata

Description:

A fairly large dark brown moth on a wall. It's scientific name is Chilkasa falcata, it can be confused with Episparis costistriga. Wingspan about 4cm. A horizontal dark line ran across it's wings, wings darker in color at the back. At resting position, 6 pointy edges are seen at the back of the wings, making them look like bat wings. Thin long antennae.

Habitat:

Kundasang area, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

This is the first time I saw this moth. So far it is not seen back in my hometown, only here around the mountain range.
