Tillandsia recurvata
An air plant with no roots, and is not a parasite. It is a related to Spanish Moss, Bromeliads and Pineapples. Crazy. The spiny leaves tangle up, grow and develop flowers.
These usually grow well in Southern humid areas in the shade, such as Live Oaks.
Spotted in Gainesville growing on power lines.
