Golden-bloomed grey longhorn beetle

Agapanthia villosoviridescens

Description:

This is a hairy longhorn beetle, with a golden stripe on its thorax. Unlike many longhorn beetles, whose larvae live in dead wood, this species uses herbaceous species including hogweed and various thistles. That is why in Slovenia we call them "osatov kozliček" wich means "thistle longhorn beetle". It would make cute little squeaking noises when touched.

Habitat:

Karst meadow
