Description:

An owl butterfly is a butterfly, in the genus Caligo, known for their huge eyespots, which resemble owls' eyes. They are found in the rainforests and secondary forests of Mexico, Central, and South America. The Owl (Caligo memnon) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is also known as the Pale or Giant Owl butterfly. The wingspan is usually from 115 to 130 mm, but can reach 150 mm.
