Italian Stone Pine

Description:

A beautiful tree that changes profile as it ages, going from being full and round to a flattened umbrella shape so that it is also called an umbrella pine. It is native to the Mediterranean region but has been carried further by humans.

Habitat:

These trees were in the archaeological ruins of Ostia Antica, outside of Rome.
