This tiny, fast-flying, long-legged fly has an iridescent metallic green thorax and a silvery gray abdomen tinged with the same metallic green. The wings have smoky gray banding. Eyes are red.
Urban yard at edge of forest in this instance, but found widely.
I found this fly drinking water from our birdbath.
