This group of Elk were hanging out in a mountain meadow west of Denver. Several young babies were in the group but just refused to come closer for a picture!! ;-)

I'm sure there was wildlife affected by all the fires we've had, but none of the fires were close to this meadow...thankfully! I can't imagine that all the animals can get out of the path of a raging firestorm...so devastating! The news channels do talk about the pets that have been rescued, but there's not much they can do about the wildlife.
