Acomys russatus
"Small but stock mouse. Upper parts golden-orange to reddish, flanks yellow, and underside pale. Fur spiny from head to base of tail. Legs gray. Feet pale with black soles. White spot below eye small but distinct. Ears black but with pale fur white patch behind each ear. Tail shorter than body. Largely diurnal and one of the few desert rodents that can be seen by day. Does not burrow but lives in rock crevices. Mice with shed tails can look very much like hamsters. Similar to Cairo Spiny Mouse." ~ A Field Guide to the Mammals of Egypt

Thanks, ArgyBee! Yes, this is a beautiful wadi in the high mountain region of south Sinai - with relatively lots of plants and critters. Enjoyed sitting and watching this mouse dart in and out of the rocks for quite awhile.
Excellent spotting Bernadette. Looks like a really interesting location too !
