Thanks for the suggestion Jacob. I'm pretty sure the eyes were green though.
Hmm...just noticed, the Zanclognatha species do not have green eyes...could yours just have been a reflection of the surroundings from the compound eyes?

Thanks Jacob! I thought maybe looper moth as its behavior was similar to the clover & forage loopers we find here.
Maybe a species of owlet. I have not seen a looper like this. What were you thinking, looper-wise?
