Groundhog

Marmota monax

Description:

The groundhog is a rodent of the family Sciuridae, belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots.

Habitat:

Semi rural backyard habitat.

Notes:

We have two groundhogs living in our barn, a mom & baby. We leave a food block & water for them & usually see them both every day. The baby is almost as large as its mom now so it's difficult to tell them apart unless I see them together.
