Wind Poppy

Papaver heterophyllum formally Stylomecon heterophylla

Description:

Almost hybiscus looking poppy. Color similar to the California Poppy, with a dark purple base. Slender lobed leaves, 4 petals, single style with head like stamen.

Habitat:

chaparral, grasslands and oak woodlands, said to also appear after fires.
