Gold green Rutilia fly

Rutilia (Chrysorutilia) rubriceps

Description:

A large fly about 17mm long body length. Quite intimidating when buzzing around my head at high speed and it was very aware of someone with a camera.

Habitat:

On a large old log in a local nature reserve. Cardinia.

Lot of flies in Australia! Not sure if that is a good thing or a comment on your hygiene practices :-) Nice shots
