Dycladia correbioides
For National Moth Week 2016. A Tiger Moth which mimics a Net Wing Beetle (Family Lycidae) for protective coloration against predators. This moth is often active during the daylight. Pictures 3 and 4 are of a mating pair taken 3 days later (27 July 16) in the same place. It is interesting to note that the thorax of one is orange, while the thorax of the other is black. This is the same species found 1000 meters higher in the mountains, but different from the one found in the southern tip of the State of Chiapas. Family Erebidae, Arctiinae. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/437... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/208...
