False Turkey Tail fungus

Habitat:

Dead log found on the floor of a mixed, mesophytic, temperate forest.

Notes:

I don't usually find these so richly colored. These were found following several days of warm, wet weather. Within hours of taking these photographs, the color faded to the grayish-white that is common when the fungus is drier.
