Description:

A Slaty Skimmer dragonfly spotted at Huntley Meadows Park. This individual is an adult female, shown in flight as she oviposits eggs in the central wetland area. The title of Photo 2 is, "A dragonfly 'swimming' in air." (Looks like the dragonfly is doing the crawl stroke.)

Thanks, Atul! As I commented on another spotting recently, I wonder whether many members of the PN community appreciate the challenge posed by photographing dragonflies in flight -- I know from experience it's more difficult than photographing birds in flight!
