Thanks, Keith. An expert has confirmed this as a Silvery Checkerspot on a facebook ID group.
This is a tough one, but if someone put I gun to my head I'd probably say Silvery Checkerspot. Gorgone is a bit out of range for Kentucky and usually has more chevrons on the forewing tip. It has a bit too much black for a Pearl Crescent.
