Large spider, about 30mm in total (including legs), brown abdomen with white stripes and white dots at sides.
Spotted during a raining morning walk at Kebun Raya Cibodas, a 80ha area above 1.400 metres high, mix of botanical park with big trees & palms and surrounded by rainforest at the foot of Gene volcano, Java - Indonesia. Argiope family is distributed throughout the world. Most countries in tropical or temperate climates host one or more species that are similar in appearance.
