A sooty black heron with white neck and head. I am not feeling secure about this ID since the beak seems to be too short. I would love some feedback.
Feeding in a billabong along the NSW side of the Murray river. They are common in freshwater wetlands and loving the recent flood conditions.
This bird is quick to make an exit when it noticed it had caught my attention.
