Small shrew
Great Smokey Mountain National Park
Shrews are hard without measurements, but I would say my best guess is the pygmy shrew Sorex hoyi.
This is a great spot. However, I think this is actually a Shrew, not a Mole. Moles have very large front feet and claws for digging and very short tails: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mole_%28ani...Shrews generally have longer tails (than Moles) and smaller front feet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShrewI am not sure what species this is. You might try checking out a wildlife guide for Tennessee to find out what Shrews live in that area.
