observed in mud puddles and decaying leaves along a rainforest trail near Explorama Lodge
Most important is Genus what Bayucca not mentioned in suggestion. He mostly verify family and subfamily...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterrhinae
He might not confirm the Genus... he is always in hunting correct genus.... will do soon.
Hey Ashish and Bayucca. I am not a lepodopterist by any stretch of the imagination. Can you help me with the classifications you've given?
Geometridae? Sterrhinae? Order, Family, Genus? What level of classification do these refer to?
It is not a butterfly but a day-flying moth. Remembers me of Geometridae, Sterrhinae, Xanthiris sp., but not Xanthiris flaveolata. There are some other similar moths around, not even Geometridae! I am not 100% sure about the genus. Cyllopoda sp., Erbessa sp. (Notodontidae!). Most of these ones are Geometridae/Sterrhinae.
