Description:

The slaty-breasted rail is a species of rail found in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Breeding has been recorded in July up to the last quarter of the year. It feeds on a variety of foods like fish, snails,worms and insects,reptiles amphibians and even small mammals.

Habitat:

It has a wide range of habitat from marshland, swamps, open seen in rice fields fishponds and mountain creeks and watersheds.
