Description:

This small day-flying moth has wings with a latticed effect. Colours vary from yellow to white. It often rests with its wings raised like butterfly.

Habitat:

A clearing in mixed coniferous forest with forget-me-nots, alt. 1900 m ASL. Generally found around lucerne crops, and also occurs elsewhere in open ground, including gardens, waste ground, calcareous grassland, fens, open woodland, heathland and moorland. Distribution: found widely in Europe. Also eastern Siberia, China and Japan.

Notes:

The lattice lines vary in thickness and sometimes the wings are almost entirely dark brown.
