Pholodes sinistraria
The early instar of caterpillars of this moth are like narrow black twigs. This one was about 10 mm with small white spots between each body segment. It has only two pairs of prolegs (grasping the stem in pic 3) and hence considered a true looper.
Spotted on a young eucalyptus tree - suburban backyard.
