Anzora unicolor?
Small lavender hopper of 5 to 7mm
Seems to be a part of the ecology on a very old Parramatta Red Gum (Eucalyptus parramattensis) in some remnant coastal woodland although I suspect it lives elsewhere than the bark where it was found. There were several on two tree which were side by side
New id offered by stho002. Thanks for the assist! It is a small compensation to know my first id wasn't far off (Dworena hyacintha) I am concerned that the ratio of the length of the wings to the width seems to be longer.

This is a flatid, possibly Anzora unicolor, see: http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/3...
This id has been softened. I cannot convince myself I have it correct
another surprise. Not as sure of this id
HA! No but I reckon almost every hopper in Aust is in there somewhere. It's just so hard to use for laypersons like us... check it out http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/auch/
very hard to id. Never heard of the NSW DPI keys, is this more homework? :-(
That's a nice one. Yet another species. Some green ones around here seem spend all their time on trunks so they just might be at home. So hard to ID though. Have you used the NSW DPI hopper ID keys?
