Nephila clavipes

Description:

Multi-hued spider that has yellow legs with black joints. Hangs between trees in its web. Males much smaller than females can often be seen sitting in web inches from then larger female.

Habitat:

Forested areas between trees or bushes but also can be seen around buildings.
