thanks Lenny for the ID and Milind Bhakare of the group Butterflies of India, for confirmation.
I always get confused between this and the Rice Swift. Seems that the Indian Palm Bob has black spots on the underwing that are missing on the Rice Swift.

Have looked at the makings on so many skipper butterflies, I'm going cross-eyed, and still I can't find one with the same markings!
