Description:

Length around 2 cm (1 inch). The color of the head and pronotum varies from purple to black, and the elytra go from light brown to dark brown. It is considered a major pest of many species of plants, like pineapple, soy bean, grape, coffee, tobacco and others.

Habitat:

This individual was found in a preserved forest far from any plantation.
