Wild Peppergrass

Lepidium virginicum

Description:

Small weed with tall branches with tiny white flowers on the racemes as seen in the second image. This plant is edible and the young leaves are usually eaten in salads. The young seeds are used as black pepper.

Habitat:

Chaparral along trail. Native to the US and is also found in parts of Canada and Mexico.
