The most common ones are sometimes the most tricky to ID! I think this one is Pieris napi and not Pieris rapae. Size is not always helpful. Depending on the genereation and gender, a large Small White might be larger than a small Large White ;-)... Ireland's subspecies would be Pieris napi britannica.
