Southern Grey-Headed Sparrow

Passer diffusus

Description:

An adult bird with a grey head, and the characteristic brown plumage on its wings and back.

Habitat:

Found foraging for seeds on the lawn in our garden.

Notes:

Have seen this bird and its mate foraging often, and seen them feeding chicks which they are raising in a bird-box (specially erected by ourselves) which was previously home to a Boomslang (around 1 year ago).
