This leaf beetle has blue green metallic colours and is about 10 mm long. Possibly Eumolpus genus, Eumolpus asclepiadeus? Help appreciated.
Spotted in dense pine forest undergrowth, alt. 1700m ASL. I first spotted a large area of damaged leaves (see third picture), and tried to find the culprit. I found several of these beetles.
Eumolpusis a genus of small beetles, one species of which ( E. viti ) is very injurious to the vines in the wine countries of Europe.
Tricky one due to the variuos colors depending on light angulation. Need anyway careful verification!!

Thanks Atul! You're right about the similarity! I now need to find criteria for both families.
