Shaggy Mane

Coprinus comatus

Description:

Some very mature shaggy mane. I think, I"m a poor mycologist and only have a little pamphlet field guide for Kansas mushrooms. Younger versions of this mushroom have a neat conical shape.

Habitat:

Found on lawns in North America

Notes:

While edilbe, this mushrooom is sometimes mistaken for the false parasol, also known as the vomiter. Not sure how since they look so different but hey.
