Blacktailed Skimmer dragonfly (male)

Description:

Seen almost throughout the day, alighting upon the tips of branches or higher open perches. It has a beautiful blue tail with a black tip, a blackish body and legs.The overall black on its body has an olive greenish tint, which gives it a metallic sheen.Its eyes are greyish with a steel sheen. The greyish wings are transparent with little black strokes on the front edges.

Habitat:

It is a European and Asian dragonfly. Its preferred habitat includes forests, freshwater pools, pans, marshes and quiet reaches of rivers where it can perch on reeds or tall grass or branches

Notes:

Found it perched on the branches. Spotted many times when the temps were pleasant, especially during the morning hours and afternoon. Can be spotted along with the females species or males.
