Description:

A large, heavy-bodied turtle that's generally regarded as being highly aggressive.

Habitat:

Lakes, temporary ponds or marshes, or most any type of slow moving, shallow water body that has a sandy bottom and abundant aquatic vegetation. They will also inhabit brackish waters.
