Blue tongue lizard

Tiliqua scincoides

Description:

A large common skink with tough mottle patterned skin and a blue tongue and mouth that is readily used as a display of aggression.

Habitat:

These were seen in a nature reserve but they are commonly encountered in bush land and grassland.

Notes:

These three are youngsters.

I love blueys. We used to get them into care a lot when we lived in Sydney, but don't seem to here in Queensland. I'm sure they are around though.

The adults are 40 - 45 cm but these are about 30 cm.

Yes they have high eyebrows and I think that makes them always look annoyed.
