Variegated Squirrel

Sciurus variegatoides

Description:

A large, long-tailed species of tree squirrel. The fourteen subspecies show a large amount of variation in color and pattern. It eats various kinds of nuts and fruits, along with some vines, flowers, and fungi. They play an important role as seed dispersers for the fruits they eat.
