Blue Dasher dragonfly (female)

Pachydiplax longipennis

Description:

This dragonfly had a striped yellow and brown abdomen. Eyes were auburn on top and green to the sides. The tail was segmented with five yellow marks on top and yellow underneath transitioning to black on the sides. The wings were black with small dark rectangles on the front edges.

Habitat:

In backyard of wooded area near pond with Pine, Oak, and Palmettos.
