Shield bug nymph

Description:

A wonderfully green round shield bug nymph. (Possibly a stink bug.)

Habitat:

In the herbal garden area in the Jardín Botánico in the center of Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia.

Sorry, I was probably not precise enough: There are Pentatomoidea, which is the superfamily of shield bugs, which are Acanthosomatidae and stink bugs, which are Pentatomidae. Personally I can't separate the nymphs of each family, besides that Acanthosomatidae would have some "spikes", but I don't know exactly how these spikes are seen in nymphs. In your spotting I would rater tend to stink bug than shield bug.

Not sure if there's a real difference, but it looks to be more shield bug nymphy than stick buggy. Here's a definite stink bug I met nearby: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/144... I'll try to post more photos (I tend to limit my uploads to my "best" shots.

It's not a beetle, but a stink bug or shield bug nymph from the family Pentatomidae. And, please, add the other pictures you have from this one as well in this spotting (you can add 5 or 6 different pictures by editing the spotting).
