Primeuchroeus sp.
This cuckoo wasp was about 5 or 6 mm long and had a more metallic blue colouring when compared with the female wasp. The thoracic plates appeared less dramatic and slightly smoother. Abdomen might have had dark banding.

Spotted flying around the outside of a building but seemed to be attraced to the female ( Pic 2).
I am assuming that the males are smoother and not requiring armour-plating as much as the females do because they do not oviposit and therefore less vulnerable to attacks. This assumption needs checking ! Family: Chrysididae
