Lichen Spider

Description:

A mother huntsman spider guarding her large egg sac on a dried leaf that matches it's brown colour for camouflage purposes. This is a large one, 17mm in length for the central body only. Possible species - Pandercetes plumipes, P. malleator, P.gracilis .

Habitat:

On large dry leaves of common rattan plant (Korthalsia sp.) in Rainforest Discovery Center (RDC), Sandakan, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy : 200m diameter. I managed to cross out another creature from my "must-spot" list, I have been trying to find Lichen Spider and now I have finally spotted and photographed it.
