Monarch Butterfly

Danaus plexippus

Habitat:

North America

Notes:

I have raised Monarch catapillas for many years. This is the first year when a female monarch took my garden as her territory and defended it against all other female monarchs. Milkweed adorns my garden and I control the growth so that when the fewmales come through I have a lot of immature plants growing as the y seem to prefer young growth.
