This particular skunk was pretty docile. It never appeared very concerned with my presence, it was mostly worried about searching for food. So, I managed not to get sprayed, at least not this time! Skunks are usually pretty calm and if they don't want you near, they usually give you some warning signs before spraying. Spotted skunks are my favorite (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/122...), and they have a great ritual they present before they reach the point of spraying you.
