Spittlebug

Description:

Small black Spittlebug with a red head and shoulders. It has a yellow band on the back of the thorax and two yellow bands on the wings. About 8 mm long. These are also called Froghoppers.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light set up along the highway on a cliff between San Cristobal and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 18.5, 1164 meters.
