Masked Hunter (Assassin Bug)

Reduvius personatus

Description:

Evil looking and I instinctively chose not to pick it up with bare hands. Good choice. Black with a large proboscis, very reminiscent of a leaf footed bug, same family I think, just different choice of nutrients.

Habitat:

Flew into my bedroom, I think it must have crawled into the house and been attracted by the light on in my room. I don't have bedbugs, but if I did, I would have kept him on as a tenant! Released it outside, where theres an unkempt field surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forest. Hoping he'll stay on in my veggie patch tho!!
