Common black-grey furred raccoon with black paws and a mask-like appearance.
Spotted running through the swampy edge of Cahuita National Park on the Caribbean side of southern Costa Rica. Hot, dry day.
In a few of these photos you can see parts of the crab I watched the raccoon scoop out of the water and rip to shreds.
