Brown-eyed Sunshine Lichen

Vulpicida canadensis

Description:

A bright yellow foliose lichen with dark brown to black apothecia. Common on the east side of the Cascades, especially on the low lying branches of conifers.

Habitat:

Spotted on a low lying ponderosa pine limb. This area of the forest is almost exclusively pine and fir trees.
