Bitter Gourd

Momordica charantia

Description:

The leaves are like grape vine...the flowers simple and yellow. The veggie is about one and half inch long, rough and ridged skin.(last pic) The flesh is white with orange seeds. Flowers seem to be butterfly magnets, with many flocking to the flowers...though many people do not like the bitter fruit....Bitter in taste but good for health.

Habitat:

Urban garden.

Notes:

What I cannot understand is why butterflies are flocking to one flower when there are so many more. One butterfly even went UNDER the flower...this is a strange thing to do...have never seen a butterfly behave like this.
