Unknown spotting

Description:

Could be a female palmate newt or maybe a female smooth newt? The palmate newts I have in my pond have a brighter orange belly to the newts pictured. Found resting under some bark peeling off a log. I saw another 3 of what looked like similar newts in some puddles along a track to the coniferous plantation directly south. According to wikipedia article about 'Lissotriton helveticus' (palmate newt): 'Sometimes confused with the Smooth newt, the palmate does not have the spotted throat of the smooth newt, but both sexes have a yellow or pale orange belly that can show some spotting'
