Habitat:

Edge of mountain field w grass and sage brush. Spotted in scrub oak around 7k feet.

Notes:

Seems like type of finch or grosbeak or sparrow...but can't find a match in either Sibley or Stokes.

You're welcome. Females can be very tricky to ID properly, but they aren't as hard as juveniles.
